Foreman

Directly supervise and coordinate activities of construction/roofing trade workers and their helpers. Perform both supervisory and management functions and also engages in the same construction/roofing trade work as the workers they supervise. Provide
timely and quality installation of all assigned Roofing projects in the field.

JOB DUTIES

• Schedule day-to-day operations / order equipment      • Conduct hands-on training of new crew members /      receipt of training 
• Maintain good public relations with customers
• Maintain safe working environment according OSHA    standards and requirements.
• Track daily man hours worked vs. job budget.
• Plan job workload in advance (five days out).
• Maintain equipment at job site.
• Complete and maintain proper daily paperwork
• Ability to solve unforeseen dilemmas and problems      on the job site as they occur.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS & EQUIPMENT

• Basic computer knowledge and skills
• Capable of reading blue-prints and manufacturer          specifications
• Basic knowledge of OSHA compliance
• Must own basic roofing tools                                          • Minimum of five years roofing experience
• Knowledge of Built Up Roofing, Adhesive systems,      Torch modified & Single-Ply Roofing
• Good mathematical, reading and time management      skills
• Good attendance                                                              •  Available to respond 24/7 to emergencies.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Roofer

We are looking to hire an efficient Roofer to repair clients’ existing roofing systems and install new roofing systems where needed. The Roofer’s responsibilities include removing hazards from roofs, and adjacent structures, setting up barricades and warning lines, and performing all tasks necessary for roof maintenance. 

JOB DUTIES
  • Inspecting the structure of roofs in order to determine the best course of action.
  • Measuring and cutting materials to ensure that they fit securely around vents, gutters, penetrations, and walls.
  • Smoothing out rough spots on roofs to prepare the surface for new materials or waterproofing.
  • Replacing areas of clients’ roofs that are damaged or rotting.
  • Installing vapor barriers and insulation to create a more waterproof seal.
  • Safely setting up ladders, scaffolding and hoisting equipment as required.
  • Updating the supervisor on job progress and reporting any problems related to the job.
  • Safely transporting all required equipment and materials to job sites.
SPECIAL SKILLS & EQUIPMENT
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • State roofer’s license.
  • Proven roofing or general construction experience.
  • Working knowledge of different roofing systems.
  • Sound knowledge of business ordinances.
  • The ability to lift heavy materials and tools.
  • The ability to use powered hand tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Roofing Labor

The roofing laborer position is an entry level position into the roofing industry. Roofing laborers are responsible for assisting mechanics and the foreman in the completion of tasks related to removing and installing or repairing roofing systems. In addition to assisting the foreman, they are also asked to maintain the project sites by cleaning up project related debris and trash. 

JOB DUTIES
  • Helping set up project sites including equipment and scaffolding.
  • Helping to protect project site including setting up safety related equipment.
  • Assist in the removal and disposal of debris created from removing existing roofing systems.
  • Assist in the clean up and maintenance of project sites in neat and clean order.
  • Observing how projects work and continuing to learn and build their personal skills.
  • Learn how to work safe on projects sites.
  • Moving materials on project sites. This may include moving materials into position for installation.

SPECIAL SKILLS & EQUIPMENT
  • Ability to use a tape measure.
  • Ability to use simple hand tools including hammer, utility knife and chalk line.
  • Ability to use a broom and other cleaning tools effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively. Communications include listening, speaking and written.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy weighted objects.
